My Message To You All

I write this this evening for tomorrow I fear will be too emotional for me. I want to wish all my many cyber friends a very merry Christmas and a peaceful, but above all, healthy New Year in 2016.

This has been a very sad conclusion to the year with the loss of my much much loved dad and I have been overcome by the many acts and words of kindness from you throughout what would have been an intolerable time for me, however I have been comforted greatly by your words and for the personal contributions via E mail and by post. The fact that so many of you took the time and with great compassion chose your words so carefully touched my heart.

I thank you all and extend my heartfelt sincere good wishes to you all and for those of you who find themselves alone and without a loved one for whatsoever reason..I have a special wee place for you in my heart.

Minty, I feel your pain and know this will be your first xmas without your Dad.
But keep his memories in mind when you celebrate this christmas. It will be hard and he will be looking down and he will want you all to be happy.

We commented recently on the cycle of life at Christmas, we reached a stage when ours were young of having 15 or so squashed round the table, that gradually decreased as nature took it's course but we are now back up to 11 with ours and grandchildren. The first year is the hardest but this is the time when we all remember those who used to be there.

It's been a hard year for you and your family to get through, which will never seem right or fair.
The memories that you have with your dad will never be taken away. Take it easy tomorrow, look around you and breath - be with those that you love as you will be, and tell them as they will tell you. Tell your dad too - he'll be around somewhere and see how much you all care and miss him, especially now as your thoughts cast back to how different time was last year.
He'll know and will have known too. You are a wonderful daughter and he will have been immensely proud of you.

I feel your pain Minty. This will be the second christmas without my dear Mum, but her photo smiles at me from a prominent place in the lounge where I can see her and remember her with love. Thinking of you Minty xx
