I don't watch Corrie but . . .

An unconvicted prisoner, held on remand, can have unlimited visits.

A convicted prisoner is given a small number of 'visiting orders' each month, which he can post out to friends and relatives, entitling them to arrange a visit. The number of visiting orders provided to a prisoner can be increased slightly through good behaviour but it will never be very large.
