There are certain people, I note (dont ask me who!) who post the same sort of questions. Maybe they are just a bit lonely.

No, I didnt post this to start a thread rugeleyboy (see above) If I was, then I would then start chatting about something else, like, "Who wants a coffee" etc etc.

It was just something I had noticed, after not being on here for a while. Chatterbank was still here then, (dont know what happened to that?)

Will end now, dont want to be accused of "chatting"

Thanks for all your replies.

are you infact the ed trying to make a subtle point? (tongue in cheek question)

Hello aquestion,

As I used to be a regular AB user about 1 year ago, i have to agree that this site is more like a chat room.

The quality has definatly changed.

Hope i dont offend anyone, but i do think some people who post emails on this site are a little lonelly.

Anyway each to their own.

Personally I am all for a "chat" section being set up. Not so I can use it personally, but so that it gets the chatty posts off B&S. Some people are trying to use the webiste to have their questions answered, and others are pushing these questions off the main page with their inane chatty nonsense questions.

aquestion: Why not report the chatty posts that annoy you? x
Hi all! Couldn't say whether it's changed or not, frankly. Only been on this site about a week now (and can't even remember where exactly I heard about it). Nice to have a different site under my belt, though. Makes a change from the usual sites I frequent. I'll move on when I get bored, but will stick around to make a nuisance of myself (!) LE
As I understand it, a Q has to be reported a number of times before the editor reviews/removes it.

Again, as I said, this is not new. You may feel that the new(ish) ABED is rather more tolerant of chatty threads than previous editors but as said, if you don't like a Q or an A then report it as appropriate - there is a chat reporting option.

I agree, that there appear to be a lot of lonely people here asking inane questions, and those who feel the need to be mentioned in threads, but if that is how they get their thrills and bring meaning to their life then so be it, just don't join in.
Yeh I agree, B+S is the new Chatterbank! I've been a member for just over 2 years and can see a difference. Im not against chat as its good to see the interaction but its the same questions over and again not to mention pointless questions and replies, well enough said except to add very often the original serious question gets tossed aside or lost cos of peep going off subject.

I can see a difference too. (To Body and Soul that is). When CB was here we weren't allowed to chat in B&S. We could only chat in CB, but since CB has gone, it seems all the chat has moved to B&S. I don't mind it but sometimes its just silly!

Mowbray - I admit I post my email on here now and then but thats only coz I don't like hijacking peoples threads for a good old natter with another member. I will happily hand them my email instead so as not to annoy the person who asked the Q!

xx

A greenie complaining about abers....what a surprise..."Ive been away a while, this is my new name..blah blah blah"....

Then you post an informal Q complaining about informal Qs...

Irony of Ironies

OK, so folk chat on here. It all gets blown away by Ed in the morning, so no real damage done.

Isn't it soo annoying.I mean really people having a talk on a website.Oh the shock!Just ignore it if you do not like it and just answer the questions. Also officially the AB is a website to discuss ''topics of interest'' so there you are.

Mostly sensible replies here. Apart a couple.

Sexyrussian (bet you are a big fat hairy bloke)

This is called Answerbank. Not Chatroom.

As I have said twice, I am not out to offend anyone. I just noticed how AB had changed. Am entitled to my opinion to OK>

i agree.

serious questions get overlooked and bumped to the next page because of all the inane drivel

now and again is ok but it seems to be neverending
