Yukka Plant

My Yukka plant has started to grow a thick multi branched stem, can anybody tell me what is accuring, is the plant going to flower ?or is there something else going on?

I would hazard a guess and say yes, by what you say, it looks like its beggining to flower, Yukka's and cordylines often do this before they are about to flower.
