My terrier went up to an Akita pup and made a play bow. The big dog showed its disinterest by lifting a massive paw as if to box its ears.

Just like that, Wolf, but the blow didn't connect.
Your terrier is a very brave dog, Sandy
Reminds me of when Max was a pup we were on the local forest and he disappeared into the bracken and I heard him give a puppy bark which was followed by a really deep woof and a minute later he burst out of the bracken followed by the biggest Irish Wolfhound I've ever seen.Max hid behind me Wolfie came and sat in front of me and swear to this day he was smiling.I could almost hear him saying I enjoyed that I bet I scared the *** out of the cheeky little ***.

The Akita is a pup but already the size of an Alsatian. It seems a good tempered dog.
Max was about 18 weeks old and quite big sandy, and this wolfie was as big as a Skegness donkey but for it's size it was a surprisingly friendly and gentle dog.
'it seemed a good tempered dog' - how on earth couId you have known that - why did you Iet your terrier go up to a strange dog? What wouId you have been writing on here had the Akita not been a good tempered dog? I have Iarge and smaII breeds and I wouId not Iet either go up to a strange dog without first having ascertained what it was Iike with other dogs.
Question Author
Its owner had it on a lead.
You were lucky, most Akitas dislike other dogs.
Question Author
Probably best if we give it a wide berth in future.

Our Dobie *** (female dog) Kim that we lost in August would, if she wanted the biggest bed and Eddie was in it just walk up to him and 'punch' the nearest bit of him until he got off it, she had a wicked left hook!
;o)
Baldric, Kim must be related to my girl cat Merlin. Years back her brother was chasing her around the house. She jumped onto a bookcase, turned around and punched Frankie. He was in mid air when punch hit him and fell back onto the floor and lay there. I thought that she had killed him. But my brave boy started howling loudly. She still beats him up but he is much more cautious these days.
