ive got 2 go 4 root canal and as my face is swollen already i dont want a needle in my mouth 2 cause any extra pain thx

Try St Faiths Dental Clinic, East Grinstead [just south  of Croydon]  they do that sort of surgery.

Well, I'm not from the London area, so I wuldn't know, but don't worry about the needles. 

I have needlephobia and I needed 10 baby teeth pulled so I feel your pain!  Try to find a dentist who goes slow.  When I went to my dad to get my teeth pulled (he's an oral surgen, don't worry) he went so slowly I coldn't feel a thing.  See, mouth needles are different than regular needles for shots.  Needles that go in your mouth are tiny.  The pain is from the liquid anesthetic being compressed into your mouth at once.  It's not the needle.  I was totally unaware he had already given me most of the shots.

Also, ask for topical anesthetic before the dentist adminesters the shots.  It should numb the surface of your gum and might reduce pain further.

..I used to work as a dental nurse a few years back now, I know they changed the law on administrating general anaesthetics in dental surgerys after a few deaths, I'm not sure if the law on this has changed since, but then all general anaesthetics had to be done in a dental hospital by an anaesthatist...
