central locking fault on escort 1997

ever since iv'e brought my escort the central locking on the rear door on the drivers side hasn't worked. it will work manually. i have tried changing the locking motor for this door several times but it just works once then burns out again. i've got a constant door open light on dash if this helps at all. any helpful ideas would be appreciated

hi i reckon if you look at the latch you will see a little plunger type swith attached to it .This switch is the door ajar switch un clip it and checked the plunger its prob stuck open hense the laight on the dash .The reason for the motor burning out is the lock is sticking where the motor attaches . hope this helps
