I have tried downloading Windows 10 in the hope it would clear any problems, this took a while due to crashing, but eventually it got to 100% only to fail due to code 80240FFF unknown error. Does anyone know what this code is please.
You could try reverting to the OS you upgraded from
The try to be more precise about what makes it crash - is it a particular program, or website?
And see if you can tell us more about the computer's specification eg make, version, etc
as old gezzer said what was wrong with XP ,i have win 10 on and never had any problems with it AT ALL.but neither did i with XP and really i dont know any advantage for most users over xp/win7 that "10" has apart from cortana, i suppose its mainly for the touch screen users and tablet brigade i just wish they could have kept updates on for XP
You have an update error which is not uncommon with the Windows 10 upgrade. I have encountered this when I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 . What I did was to roll it back to Windows 7 and then make sure that all of your programs are working properly and all of the current updates for Windows 7 are downloaded and installed. You should run the Windows 10 compatibility manager to see if every thing is ok and fix what it tells you is wrong. You can then try to run the upgrade to Windows 10. If it still fails a phone call to Microsoft will be your next step.
