I have problems sleeping but recently stumbled upon the fact that co-codamol can help. I had some at home which were prescribed when I had back pain and find it does help and have been getting quite good nights. I only take 2 about half an hour before bed. I am feeling a lot more awake during the day so am I doing any harm if I keep taking co-codamol at this dose.

It can have a harmful effect on your gut, I'd ask your doctor if I were you.
No, but is it pain keeping you awake?
I don't think your GP would approve of using co-codamol as a sleeping tablet.
I think that dosage will eventually lead to constipation.
It can lead to constipation and is also addictive. That is a low dose though and whether it's advisable or not will also depend on your age.
Yes....sooner or later you will need more to have the desired effect. Try not to use them unless you have to.

Thanks for the answers. I will get a GP appointment and discuss my sleep problems with him again although I have never found he has much in the way of suggestions. Will ask his opinion on the co codamol.
Co-codamol, one taken at night makes mintymow have a good nights sleep.
Small dose, non addictive (if that is an issue) with no serious side effects.

What is the problem?
depends if they have 8mg of codeine or 30mg, I would have thought...
I take one 30/500 per night, both helps me sleep and reduces any likely pain from lying down for hours, GP aware and happy to prescribe.

The ones I take are 15/500, currently I take 2 but will see if 1 is as good.
