I felt the ITV evening news hit a low yesterday following the Newsreader's quote 'after the break those exclusive Britney Spears pictures'.

The 'story' was that Britney Spears, whilst walking to her car nearly dropped her baby (his hat fell off). I was particularly annoyed not only by the lack of any newsworthy person or event but that the incident was probably a result of a huge crowd of photographers and reporters (since paid by ITV no doubt) mobbing Britney.
