For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I have no personal experience, but regard them as a bit of a novelty...if you want one instead of a "battery-only" portable, then they're OK...I have some wind-up torches which are good for emergencies, but not as good as battery-powered ones. The higher you have the radio volume - the more you will have to wind it (or charge in daylight/sun). Don't expect too much for £15!
In my experience....definitely not.
If you are going to be listening to FM, then the life of operation in between windings won't be too bad, but on DAB its next to hopeless. I bought one to to use in my caravan and its lucky that its also mains-driven, as I would be winding the ruddy thing ever few minutes.
There are plenty of good quality radios around these....I have about 5 models from the PURE range, which I can't praise highly enough.
