I bought an individual pack of liver and bacon from a well-known supermarket. I heated it, started to eat the stuff, and was taken aback by how sweet it was. On checking the ingredients, I found listed on the pack: sugar, invert sugar syrup, honey, muscovado sugar and caramelised sugar. The total of sugars in one pack came to very nearly two teaspoonsful.
What are they thinking of ?
I found the taste so disgusting that I shall certainly never buy this product again, and i shall in future check contents on all packs of savoury meals in case this is becoming a fashion.

Errr... none ?

No wonder there is an anti sugar fad on of late.
I love liver and bacon, but wouldn't buy a pack like this. Get each product separately, and enjoy.
I suppose they put so much sugar in because some people expect, and are becoming addicted to, sugar in food.
Well it shouldn’t taste sweet but for years and years caramelised sugar has been used as a browning agent.
