Weird Weather

I've just noticed I have a geranium in flower on the patio. Also daffodils are just about to burst into flower.
What is going to happen to all the plants later in the year?
I always thought they needed a good dose of frost to prepare them for the year ahead.

My fuchsia baskets have some new growth and they're still on the decking. OH had to cut the grass a few days before Christmas and it is still growing.

Well it was the mildest December on record, but the poor things will perish next week, supposed to be getting out first really cold spell !
