I have the same .... clutching at straw here but if it's Everton then it refers to Football Team often referred to as an 'eleven'; so always 111 could be:
Always = ever
100 = ton
and 11 = football team.

Also surely there is a mistake in 2d.

The more I think about it...
If you write '111' as 'one hundred and eleven' then the clue becomes:
Always one hundred ... and ... eleven.
The cryptic part gives 'ever ton' and the definition is 'eleven (i.e. a football team.).'
