Isn't that the reason that they are now flooding Europe, their lives are at risk in the countries of origin?

I don't think Mr aog is demonstrating sympathy. What he has demonstrated is a crass U turn and hypocrisy
by the German government.
Either they are genuine asylum seekers fleeing for their lives to find refuge in the first safe haven or THEY ARE NOT. Merkel has made a calamitous error of judgement which has back fired in her face
