New Debutant

This is an incorrect phrase as a debutant is new so therefore the word 'new' is redundant. Is there a word for this faux pas in Grammar?

I think tautology best sums up your example where the same meaning is repeated. Pleonasm more describes redundant words like saying "for free" instead of just "free".
