i am looking to buy a new gas cooker. i live in old peoples sheltered accommodation. i have been informed that new gas cookers now have a different connection (bayonet) to my ancient fitting. so...??do i have to have a new fitting fitted....or will my new cooker (when bought) be able to be fitted to the old fitting. if not, will i have to pay for new fitting or is the council responsible for us old folks.....as my now ancient cooker is on the point of collapsing, cant use grill or oven only the hob, this question needs your attention from corgi engineers....help please.

Ok, Foxy .............. first off ... Corgi is now "GasSafe"

You will definitely need one of them to alter the existing wall fitting to the newer bayonet type.

Remember to order a bayonet connecting pipe with the cooker.

The GasSafe guy will test as well.
ps i think it's probably unllikely the council will pay. Mt MIL just moved into SA, and she had to buy new carpets, curtains and pay for someone to connect the electric cooker
