2 Weeks Diet, Tonight Is Cheat Night

Started a strict post Christmas diet, detox and get the energy levels back up. I have lost 3/4 of a stone and feel ok, still a way to go. Tonight we have promised ourselves a "cheat night". Its a bit of an incentive for us and want to make the most of it...... Problem is what to have as don't want it to be anti climax????

I got a juicer for Christmas and I am finding it easier to get my fruit and veggies in. Lean meat, fish, veg, rice. Replaced pasta with wholemeal and white bread with wholemeal (but rarely eat bread as it bloats me). I have been on the gym 4 times a week.... I am leaning towards an Indian
Just choose carefully jd - why undo the good work so far.....Indian would work.
I would be like bednobs, as for a treat I would go for some cheese (I'm allowed that on my min carbs diet) and a glass or two of red wine - I'm allowed that too if it is a Rioja or, if a white, a Sauv Blanc - no dessert wines, sherry etc etc - however, I am also dry for the next six weeks, except the w/end of the 29th as my baby sister and hubbie will be visiting.
For a meal theme, I would probably go Chinese though, noodles rather than rice, authentic of course and not the English idea of what a Chinese should be.

It depends on your personal taste. What sort of restaurants do you like to visit ? Or are you a bugers/hot dog/pizza/pie sort of person ? Maybe a sweet dessert type ?

Well done for starting the diet.
3/4 of a stone is 10 pounds in two weeks, so just be aware that you are not going to lose that much weight all the time.
Anybody who starts a diet always loses 5 or 6 pounds in the first week due to factors like less food in your body etc.
A more likely figure once you settle down is about 1 or 2 pounds a week so don't get upset if you don't lose that much weight each week as you move on.
Also note it is best not to say your are ON a diet but that you have CHANGED your diet.
We are all ON a diet (what we eat is our diet) but we are on bad diets or good diets.
So what you have done is CHANGED your diet from a bad diet to a good one.
By saying you are ON a diet you are giving it a time when you will finish it, saying you have changed your diet means you could carry on with that for the rest of your life.
So if you are out for a meal with friends, don't say "I cant eat that I am ON a diet" just say you are trying to eat better so have changed your diet.
I can make a difference.
p.s. Also note weight can take months or years to put on so it can also take months or years to take off, there is no quick fix (even though lots of books and web sites say there is).

If suggest staying low with the carbs...carbohydrate causes the release of insulin. And it's insulin that causes the body to *hold on to fat*. I'd go with old geezers suggestion of a nice fish...or steak...dinner. Lots of salad and green veg. If you eat low carb,you font have to ditch the butter. Treat yourself with quality...not junk.
exactly what I am doing, pasta, and what you say is right, a huge blitz on keeping most carbs out, especially sugars. If you have to eat some, go for slow release ones such as porridge and perhaps a little pasta/noodles.
Dinner here tonight, a sunflower/olive oil wokked stirfry of chicken and veg, cress/red onions/edame/chillis/some greens......noodles for the mater and a smidge of those for me, low carb satay sauce too.....

We made bruschetta with garlic olive oil, sun dried tomato and caramelised onion. While the mrs was preparing them I went your favourite pizza place and we shared our favourite tagliatelle dish and a BBQ base chicken, pepper, onion and sweetcorn. I'm sat here stuffed and satisfied but back to the gym in the morning. Well worth the wait
