Hi! Sorry I'm late!

I need to fill in for Auntie I'm afraid, which obviously means the quality of service will be reduced.

Here's last month's thread:

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Weight-Loss-and-Dieting/Question1454431-4.html

We're doing a feast at AB towers today - obviously we should all show restraint and only have 5 slices of cake - but hey, it's all downhill from here to Christmas right?

Right?

Oh, okay.

How are you holding out against the joy of nice nibbles everywhere?

Going back a couple of decades I reached my goal (a particular waist size) and folk told me I was too slim. They had a point. The waist was great but my limbs were thin and my face gaunt. I looked like two knitting needles stuck in a ball of wool. Been such a long time since then though. Clearly didn't manage to maintain.
i weighed in tody and was amazed to find i'd lost 1/2 a pound :)
You put us to shame bed knobs.
Your description deserves a literature prize OG.
I'm eagerly awaiting the January thread at 00:01 later.
Hear hear!
I have put on two pounds over the Christmas period. One day of eating normally will get rid.

That will be January 4th. Back to normal.
Tilly, it will take weeks to undo all the food and drinks I've consumed. So lucky you!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE . Now it is time to get back to out healthy eating . I have only cheeses left so will have them in moderation . Good luck everyone .xstitcher and I started this posts 3 years ago then the ed took us over on a regular basis . It does help to keep with us every week gain or lose .
Yes happy new year one and all.
Soups and salads are good at this time of year. I like spring green salad with sliced radishes, sprinkle of lemon juice and low salt. You can add what you like. It goes well with a good chunky vegetable soup.
Using smaller dishes works for me. It fools me into thinking that I'm eating more than I am.
Write up your menus in a special book and make your shopping list from there.
Use the Internet for delicious slimming recipes and information about what you are eating. It will be a great help...just Goggle it.
Remember to go easy on fruit which is packed with sugar; bananas and grapes being on the naughty end.
Good morning everyone I think like me you are all in hiding . I was hoping to get off the naughty step but not so . All the goodies have gone except cheeses so I can be careful with them. Looking for a loss next week.
Gosh, of course, it's Wednesday the 6th isn't it ! Had forgotten. Still; down 1.6 lbs over the week, allegedly. Mind you it was such a horrendous increase over Xmas/New Year it would have been unimaginable for it not to begin dropping.

Plus I'm now back home so it ought (?!?!) to continue to improve if I can find the willpower after getting used to all that intake.
Good morning all

I've left the naughty step too OG but I still have a stone to go before I'm back to where I want to be. Experience tells me that time and patience is involved here.

Hope the rest of you are going in the right direction.
Good morning all,

Hmmmm I'm still the same but should be on the naughty step for not trying. I'm a very bad example to you all at the moment :-((
Good morning I have come off the scales 1lb lighter at last this is due to back to smaller portions and no junk food .xstitcher don't worry with all you have had to content with your illness then your hubby being ill you know now that you are both on the recover road you know how to get back on track .
Morning all and Happy New Year if I haven't said it before.

I'm still here on the naughty step having not made serious inroads this week. I'm heavier than I should be after Christmas but the cupboards are bare now and we're back to our normal shop, so I am heading in the right direction and hope to reap the benefits next week!

I managed to get back to soup or salad lunches this wek and enjoyed a small portion of mashed sweet potato with the salad one day. Delicious. I can recommend it for those times when only comfort food will do! I also had a fabulous stir fry last night with cauli-rice which was very tasty; and its trusty jacket potato tonight with mediterranean vegetables.

Sorry I pressed submit before I had said WELL DONE Wendilla, you're back on track! Smaller portions really help - I have to remind my OH when he helps with the cooking that there are two of us not four!
Shoot. :-( Up 0.4 lbs. Still got Xmas stuff around. Indeed was given ¼ of a cake over the weekend which I've yet to consume.

Well done Wend, at least one of us is going in the right direction.
Good for you Wendilla!
That mashed sweet potato sound very tempting Maydup. Do you just boil it and then mash it? Do tell.
