How Do I Keep The Internet Connected

when i was with aol i would access a website, close it down and still have aol home page on the screen ready for the next website. now i'm using bt through IE and google chrome for this site every time i close a website the whole internet goes off back to the start up screen with the windows logo and i then have to start the internet again, is there a way to keep a home page running in the background? Thanks

paul, in chrome you should have your current page shown at the top on the left and a small gray square next to it. Clicking on that square opens another tab where you can go to another site. You can open as many tabs as you want and you can return to previous tabs, clicking on the cross will delete that tab without affecting the others.

Thanks Vulcan 42 I've found what you said about the small grey square, I didn't know that. It makes life a lot easier, I assume it could be something similar on IE so I'll have a look at that also Thanks
