Banning striking outright would be preferable. It has no place in civilised society. Social security and employment law are all the protections workers need - any shortcomings that are exposed should lead to employment law being updated for all of us - no band of workers should be able to act like a Mafia and raise themselves up above the rest via actions that damage the economy or threaten security/health. We have the right to protest, we don't need the right to strike too.
