Thanks Minty! Will do.
If you go into your profile, click on edit profile you can set a new password.
Your Kindle's web browser (Silk) clearly isn't set to store both passwords and cookies. Go into the relevant settings to change things:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201589380
Since your password is OK on your PC, you can view it there.

If you're using Internet Explorer, follow these instructions:
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/35519-internet-explorer-11-stored-passwords-view-remove.html

If you're using Firefox, see here:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/password-manager-remember-delete-change-and-import#w_viewing-and-deleting-passwords

If you're using Chrome, type
chrome://settings/passwords
into the address bar. Click on the entry for The Answerbank and then on 'Show'
Great shooting from Buen.
