telling women not to use blusher any more?
I feel most odd amongst women with perfectly applied foundation, but without pink stripes running from nose to hairline.......
(I didn't get out much in last 2 years ;) )

I am always fascinated by women's perceptions of themselves, as against how the world sees them.
A friend of mine is a physically beautiful woman, with the most gorgeous hair. She has appeared in a shampoo commercial, and as an extra in a number of films, including the two 'Elizabeth' films with Kate Blanchett.
Apparently her visual appeal is the contrast between her luscious dark hair and her translucent skin, but she refers to herself as being 'pale'!
This observation was promoted by Bath's observation about adjusting her makeup to 'look a bit healthy' - again a self-perception that may not have been thought of by other people.
It's down to the age-old contrast between how you see yourself, and how others see you.

@ Tambo...there's a lot to read there,...is there a particular place where she says she wears blusher? ;)
Andy,......I really truly look like a corpse without make-up, I understand what you're saying, but I have really dark circles under my eyes, and folk tell me I "look tired" without concealer there! I've had them since I was a child, and I remember my mother tried to make me eat watercress + liver as I might be short of iron, and making me go to bed ridiculously early because I looked "short of sleep"!
