Togo - I read the article. It made interesting reading, but somewhat pessimistic I thought. One of the tools used to charge customers is post code. Should we get rid of that too? The tests were theoretical. It is highly unlikely that the charges will rocket by 99%. People at home would feel discriminated against. Pricing according to time of day is already done on economy 7. The new system, if it uses this theory, you could do all your chores at off peak like washing, dishwasher at weekend. People will use less at peak times. The meters could even have tariffs down to individual households, like the elderly or infirm. You could tell the wife to go out during the day or wear an overcoat indoors. Seriously, I think all this is scaremongering.
