What is the best guitar in the Fender line?

I work as a Guitar shop Manager and have been a Fender user and fan for years (40) The guitars Fender made a name for themselves are really historic now and were very inconsistant albeit some of the best around at the time. I find that they are better than ever overall - NOW - a standard USA strat is usually very good - the deluxe is better - if you want a piece of history buy a custom shop - better still if money is no problem get them to make you one(custom shop) to your spec. and expect a bill over �4000. (and a long wait - I ordered a Clapton strat with a different neck radius - i think it took 5 months to appear but the customer went away smiling (and he could really play) and never came back. Thats a good sign to me.
