again. She has had two spontaneous lung collapses... one the august of 2014 another one last august 2015 and a third one last monday...however last monday at the hospital they only found a small hole and after morphine my daughter was feeling better and her breathing got back to normal....The hospital said they couldnt operate until her lung had fully deflated again as was dangarous... So she was sent home....since then she has been in agony with her back hurting,,,she says its like the pain she had at the front but her breathing is ok.. She is taking 2 co codemol and 2 ibuprofen every four hours but still in great discomfort... Do you think she should get the hospital to check it out or just carry on until her hospital appointment next tuesday? Many thanks Brenda x
Don't worry lilac, if her breathing is fine, then so is the lung with no spontaneous leaks. Continue the pain killers until her next appt.
However, if she does get breathless, then take her back to the hospital.
Thankyou Sqad...... that has put my mind at rest..but its awful seeing her in so much pain.... plus it feels like a time tomb waiting to go off as we are aware the lung can go at any time again. its only been five months from the second collapse. Once again thankyou xx Brenda
Lilac, I am sure that the medical staff realise the situation and I am sure that they will take the first opportunity of performing an operation called a Pleurodesis that is sticking the lining of the lung together with a chemical agent, talc is often used.
Keep me informed as i am interested in the situation.
