st. bees (irish sea?) query
on a recent visit to st. bees, cumbria we decided to walk up along the cliff face from the seacote hotel. the further up we got, we could see what appeared to be a white line in the water, at 1st it just looked like breaking water but on closer inspection this was not the case. the line stayed there and did not break up at all for at least 300-500 yards. does anyone know what this is? is it some sort of barrier for the erroding cliff, so it doesn't completely wash it away? or some other explanation? any help would be gratefully received.
