Finding Bank Accounts In Australia For A Deceased Person
My son was killed in a car accident in Australia in Nov 2015.
He died without a will and we have managed to finalise some of his estate but now believe he had bank a account or accounts that we were unaware of.
How do I go about finding out? is there a common email address for all banks in Australia that I can contact?
He lived in Adelaide so I am assuming that the accounts would be with an Adelaide bank.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

and then had this relative mess to clear up
I think you may be reduced to writing to each and every bank
The only other thing would be to ask the new tenants of where he was living to send on all his mail one of which would be a bank statement
or if he were employed ask the employer for the bank details they paid into.
Data protection is not an issue - remember that you are your sons rep on earth and can do anything in law he could ( same rule applies in OZ) .- Effectively in law he ( as you ) are demanding his own data
