I am on Virgin Media, the internet is okay but the emails are dead and the system has been down for hours.

I can access my emails by using Mozilla Thunderbird so it isn't too much of an inconvenience but it is still annoying.

Wolfie...I am an ex-BT Engineer and I can't see one common problem that would cause this sort of difficulty to both BT and Virgin.

I've been off since Sunday teatime. I'm with Talk Talk, apparently there are a lot of people who have got faulty Reuters/routers. They are sending me another one but in the meantime today we bought a dongle so that's what I am using at the moment.
Worryingly though got an email from TalkTalk to say it was delivered and signed for this morning at 9.15. They say it was signed for by Bins. Don't know anyone of that name and we were in all morning. Went out at lunch time.
I hope they don't mean it went in the dustbin as it was bin day today and the bin was on the pavement awaiting emptying.
Yesterday was so frustrating, I kept going to look something up then realising I couldn't.
We sure do get reliant on these things.

Seems it has been most of the country, put BBC news on as soon as I got in, it made the headlines.

Went down earlier this afternoon. Just got back in after a quick walk on the prom. Back up and running. I checked with my next door neighbour and he was OK with EE. We are on the same set of supply facilities so it must have been a server problem or suchlike.

Just got back online, been off since mid-morning, all I could get from BT was an 'engaged tone' or a message to the effect that they had a 'Major Technical Problem'
