Lowestoft To Land's End And Back By Bicycle
6 Answers
Evening all. I applied to participate in series 2 of Hunted on Channel 4 but as the applications received are likely to be in the tens of thousands my chances are pretty slim. However I have the time booked off work just in case, given the short notice those successful candidates will be given so will have a 5 week gap in my diary to fill in early Summer. I have decided to cycle from Lowestoft to Land's End and back again to fill that hiatus. I don't fancy going via London as I will probably get mugged, murdered or end up under a truck's Pirelli (I will be sleeping rough most nights to save money) so what is the best route to take? I'd like to take a different route on the return leg.

Just looking at ordinary roads though . . .
Lowestoft > Diss > Thetford (or Bury St Edmunds) > Cambridge > Bedford > Aylesbury > Oxford > Cirencester > Bath > Wells > Glastonbury > Minehead > Barnstaple > Bideford > Bude > Lands End.
Returning . . .
Lands End > Helston > Truro > Launceston > Exeter > Honiton > Wincanton > Andover > Newbury > Reading > Maidenhead > Aylesbury > Dunstable > Luton > Baldock > Royston > Newmarket > Bury St Edmunds (or Thetford) > then as outbound to Lowestoft (or via Norwich if you insist upon not retracing any part of your route).
Those are just a few first thoughts (and, as I've been up for over 26 hours now, probably not very well put together) but they might at least give you something to work on while I catch up on a few hour's kip!
