I have to admit, the gallbladder hell diet was the best diet I've probably ever been on, I lost a lot of weight, pain is one hell of a motivator! It was a big shock reading labels and realising how much fat was in everything!! I found wafer thin turkey quite good for sandwiches or wraps. Hope you are more settled today, the vomiting doesn't sound good though, do keep...

If you have Ibobrufen in the house or Diclofenac (Voltarol) take a good dose ( 600 mgms for Ibuprofen). The attack should not last for mire that a couple of hours and after that your stomach will be sore, but the bad pain will have gone.
If you are still have bad pain after a couple of hours and after taking Ibuprofen, then go to A&E.

use the surgeon's first rule - if in doubt, rip it out. It's not a big op, in and out the same day with luck.... You don't want the attacks getting worse - watch the diet and Omneprazole (spelling) and Naxoprofen
2/3rds of gall bladders are female ops, the 5 Fs they say - 'Female, Over Fifty, Fair, Freckled, and Fat.'

I hope you get it sorted soon Islay. I remember getting heartburn at primary school and from then on there was an ongoing problem. Anything digestive related seems to make you feel terribly terribly ill.
I 'think' that "Eve" had similar problems but I not sure what the final outcome was.
I am off to bed - so tired. Off to see my doctor first thing tomorrow, should be fun.

I found Diclofenac (Voltarol tablets as Sqad said) or codeine phosphate helped with attacks and I was given some Spasmanol not long before I had it taken out, the latter two on prescription and I was on codeine anyway for pain relief.
The Diclofenac helped with the pain radiating into my back round my shoulderblades.
Mine was generally twitchy and I was really quite unwell until I had mine out. You can only do what you can with diet and small portions and such.
I really hope you can get it removed soon, the attacks are awful :(

Hope you are more settled today, the vomiting doesn't sound good though, do keep a very close eye on things, I got really ill with mine very quickly and ended up in hospital so please take care and get seen if you need to.
I really do feel for you, it's miserable and the attacks are truly awful.
