I think your dislike of them indicates that you are capable of finding or making alternative entertainment. Drinking and dancing to loud music and pulling shallow- and one-track-minded individuals of the opposite (or same) sex is boring for you because it's easy. You don't have to think too much.
When you go to that relaxing pub, there's often the chance to make proper conversation, eat decent food and listen to decent music properly. Pubs are frequented by different types of people - there's always someone interesting to listen to, talk to or talk about, unlike nightclubs where everyone's on the same level and it's ... well ... pretty boring, really.
Hi, Was I glad to read this post, I could have written this myself, I am a similar age to you.
You are not boring, you have just changed and your priorities and things you do for enjoyment have changed with you.
From 18 to about 28 I was out every Fri & Sat and could think of nothing worse than being in the house on a weekend, now the thought of a cosy night in, or the pictures or a meal is all that keeps me going till the weekend comes round.
Most of my friends are also like me, however I do have one as you describe that can only ever suggest a night on the town, it just doesn't do it for me anymore. As a result I dont see that friend much now.
You do what makes you happy.
