We've got some new ad layout which makes it possible for certain advertisers to take over whole categories as "residencies" or "takeovers".
This means that they'll take all the ad impressions for that page, and have the chance to do something clever with the advertising itself!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Yep Ed very effective at getting money - I would love to see how effectiit is for the advertiser, obviously its a lot cheaper than other forms of advertising so maybe ratio is worth it. But I as I said , ignore it.
However as an exercise, why don't you canvass you collegues and friends and ask them how many look, how many click. The ads work if your looking for something. As random additions to the view they are a hinderance, even the viral ones I just look for the button that says you can shut it down.
