Have I Been Hacked?
13 Answers
I looked in my junk e-mail box and found one from my daughter. It had her name on the e-mail, so I opened it, only to find out it was spam from an online working from home web site. I've phoned my daughter & she hasn't sent it.
How have the spammers found out my daughters name? It also started; Hi Dad.

The reason I ask is that, a few days ago, I received an email that appeared to come from another AB member (with whom I had some contact quite some time ago) but which was actually sent from a different server to the one that his email service uses. It seems that someone has accessed his Inbox and collected details of everyone that he's been in contact with. I've let him know about it and he's changed his password but that won't actually help much when the miscreant isn't actually using his email account to send out dodgy mail. (They could still send out more mail, based upon the list of details that they've already got, from another server).
He's with Yahoo. Is that who your daughter gets her email service from? If so, there might have been a major breach of their security.

I have had the same for since the TalkTalk hack in October. Considering it is illegal to not supply a full postal address the
people who are really just opportunistic marketers at Unit 6923, PO Box 6945 London W1A should just be closed down. However the authorities do nothing but waffle and proffer excuses as, their mortgages are being paid for by us so, why would they bother to actually do anything? I have asked TalkTalk and the Information Commission to act on this outfit and they make excuses. I remember years ago in Spain as a youth seeing a giant padlock and chain around an office double front door handles with a white poster stuck on the door informing all and sundry that the premises would remain closed until their municipal rates were paid,. This struck me as brilliant as, it had to be dealt with or you stay closed. In the UK everything drifts on for years and years making lawyers rich and creditors poor because we love doing nothing. Trading Standards, the iCO and anything that the public pay for just goes around in circles making noises but doing nothing while the public have to put up with all the nonsense.
