Disowning Parents
This may seem a very bizzare question to ask, but hopefully i have come to the write place.
I want to know however whehter it is possible to disown, your own parents. I dont know if the terminology i am using is correct, but i guess i mean the severing of all legal ties. So that say any credit rating was purely based on myself, or if say applying for a student grant it was solely on myself rather than on my parents.
Many thanks for all your help, and i f you believe i'm posting this in the wrong section please advise me,

When we went went bankrupt some years ago, each of our sons got one of these from the insolvency service.
If your problem with your parents is more complex in nature, and if you really feel you want to sever all ties, then it is possible to divorce them legally, but you'd need to speak to a solicitor about this. There are also special legal agencies that can advise young people on such matters. Maybe someone out there in AB land can give you a link?
Hi
Thanks for your responses.
The situation at the moment is predomenantley financial, as i am 20 years old and off to university in September, and with a combination of top up fees and my dads income i am going to struggle to be able to afford to pay fees.
The problem been that part of my "grant" is income assesed, however it is assesd on my fathers income. His income is enough that i don't recieve that much of a grant, and due to difficulties, and to be honest selfishness of my father he wont loan me any money to help out.
Wny futhur information that anyone can offer would be much appreciated,
Many thanks
