Youngmafbog accused me of (quote) "racism" recently when I wondered why we are supposed to care what Cockneys - people born within the sound of Bow Bells - call things. I then suggested that we might equally care about what people born within sight of the Forth Rail Bridge call things or what people born within smelling distance of Brixham fish-market call them. The possibilities are endless…so why just Cockneyisms?
The Cockney area is a tiny bit of one city, but here HE maligns an entire city!
As regards the article itself, I often wonder how it is that he so frequently cannot see the wood for the trees. Here are a few phrases extracted from it…“probe threat…could become…suspected conman…accused of…suspected of…claiming its role…claims he was forced…alleged corruption.” I lost interest at that point.
This is nothing but typical Daily Mail kite-flying in which everything exists in a sort of cloud-cuckoo land, where nothing is firm, nothing is proven and everything is merely a vague mist of suggestion.
It’s conceivable that it will all come to pass, I suppose, but – even if so – that will not make this article anything but wild speculation.
