Those of you who have used more than one site of this nature, are there any you have found particularly welcoming ?

I have been on AB since September 2004 (under my real name originally) and have passed through the CB era. It feels helpful and warm here and sometimes delightfully eccentric. Another very friendly one is the BBC Food Message boards, and often a scream too.

Others I won't mention I come away feeling like I have been mauled by a bear, there is such hostility and aggression from a few users. I come back on here and my tension levels fall away. (Creep over!)

I joined ivillage as an expectant mother in october 04. I joined a whole group of women who were all expecting Babies in June 05. We went through many highs and awful lows together and then the joys of the births. We are still together and our babies are rapidly approaching 1 year old and have just thrown a birthday party for those that could travel to Twycross zoo.

I wouldnt be without them, we support each other through everything, baby related or not. Some mummys are pregnant again and yet stay on our own board rather than disappear to a later board. I can see our large family staying together for many years to come.

I am always on Football365 forum, not everyones cup of tea, but some of the banter is hilarious.
A friend of mine is a regular on Gumtree and I thought Id give it a go myself. But after reading some of the posts, the amount of abuse and name calling etc between users really quite put me off. I use AB to interact with other people and discuss issues and maybe from time to time, be able to say something helpful to someone. My experience of this site has been positive, I have found most people to be caring and helpful - what a lovely bunch you all are xxx

I have found that the Computer Active readers forum has been really useful for all sorts of 'techie' questions. Not only computer stuff but digital cameras, TVs and electronics in general. People have been most helpful and you don't normally get subject wander. A very practical useful site to use:

Ah ha lia*, may see you there then.

I and a friend are MasterChef addicts. I love food programmes, not so much for the food as the banter. I loved Great British Menu last night but I couldn't tell you much about the food (except 20 cloves of garlic!)
