I've bought a large tub of Dulux from B&Q and after just an inch by 4 inch stroke of the brush I hate the colour. Is that a wasted tin? I feel I've seen an Ad that offers to exchange paint?

I'd put the lid back on, give it a couple of good shakes to lose the brush mark just in case they look and take it back for a swop.
The small sample pots for £1 something are worth getting first Prudie. Good luck with exchange just blame the OH for getting the wrong colour :0)
Was it one of those colours where the paint is made up to your order? If so you are stuck with it . They will only accept a return if it is faulty.

Unfortunately all my fault, bought and chose it alone. It's a standard ready made colour. I could say the poor lighting in B&Q made their test piece look like the soft minty green I wanted rather than the lurid green slime it comes out on the wall :-)
Perhaps it dries minty green.

Thank you anagram, so it is Dulux. I'll investigate.
AS mazie says you can buy tiny trial tins of Dulux paints, you buy one and then try it on a test area at home where you want to use it so you can see the final effect before you buy a big tin. Also as O_G says some colours look different once they dry.
