up the northwest, it finishes between Carnforth and Kendal I believe - don't know if you can get up to Newcastle or further north.

the Falkirk wheel is very impressive !

It certainly is! To operate it takes the same amount of electricity as it does to boil a kettle. It is so finely balanced.

and the visitor centre does a nice cuppa to !

So I've heard! A friend of mine took his boat up there.
