Iphone Charger Lead ?

Why does an iPhone charger lead only work for a few weeks at most?
My wife's iPhone is on it's 5th USB sync / charger lead in just a couple of months. They seem to be OK for a week or two then they just do not work any more (it's the small connector type not the wide flat one)
Are there any that do last? I notice eBay sellers are doing them in packs of 5 at a time now so possibly it's a wide spread problem. (design fault?)

Mine is an original iphone charger, the one that came with the phone, its 4 years old and (touching wood) good as new. Same with my ipad mini charger. I have got them set up in different places and use either for either.

I have 4 iDevices with that lead and never had a failure.

Are you using an Apple lead or cheap knock-offs? If you have the genuine product it is under warranty and you get get it replaced FOC.

I haven't had any problem with charging leads for my iPhone 4 and 6 at all.

But they are so cheap on ebay, that its easy to keep a couple standing by, just in case. I bought this on ebay last week, to use in my caravan. Just where the profit is for the company I can't imagine !

Never had a problem with mine. Had it for two years now.

Possibly the fault is in the phone then. I bought a genuine 'Apple' branded one but that was no better. Can't return it as it went straight in the bin once it stopped working .
