As my mum always said, don't lower yourself to their level. It was totally out of order and you could see by Shabaz' face it must have happened to him a zillion times before (he does ask for trouble!)
On opening night Nikki said "all I want to do is shop and have lunch that is ALL I WANT TO DO" as if we should all let her do just that. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
Just watching the Shahbaz thing again now. He's been annoying me through the week, but I agree, they all went WAY too far at the end, I felt awful for him. And poor old Pete didn't know which way to turn, bless him. And afterwards they're all singing and dancing - not a trace of empathy - whilst poor old Shahbaz is getting ready to leave the house.
I think that Nikki has been very, very spoilt her whole life - and I think that it'll begin to wear on the other HMs now that Shahbaz has gone and they can concentrate their attentions elsewhere!
Thanks for all your great answers people, i think scubadiver summed it up brilliantly about a pack of lions closing in on an injured Zebra. I am glad shabaz has left because we weren't getting to see enough of the other housmates personalities as he was consuming the whole show. I like Pete and thought he was a sweetie in the diary room, also like Grace and Imogen (the only one to feel bad) and the rest don't seem too bad. Should be better now he's gone. Nikki is very pot noodle (all me me me me me) and yes, purplelilly, BB was lovely to shabaz, daren't be any other with his fragile state of mind!!!
sorry ray, i'm only coming round to yours if you put BB on!!! Guess thats a no then! XXxx
Yes I did. It was bullying at its worst. It had all the elements of bullying:
Marginalising the victim / pushing him onto the periphery
Individulas who initially stood up for the victim dropping away owing to group pressure
The bullies justifying their behaviour to themselves & each other
Bullies painting themselves as victims and setting up the real victim as the problem.
Continued small incidents designed to totaly undermnie the victim.
It really bothered me to watch it. I think it was a massive error of judgment of Endomol & C $ to let it play out that way.
While I feel that his behaviour was consistently over the top, I genuinely believe this is due to a psychiatric disorder. I think ALL contestants have some sort of personality disorder to WANT to expose themselves on live TV, and so it must be difficult for BB to discriminate truthfully between the ones attention seeking and the ones who are mentally unstable.
I found the bullying behaviour quite disgusting. Yes, Shahbaz was annoying as hell and yes, nobody can really understand what that environment must be like, but still. There's no excuse for that.
