11A: Not having guys to give support (8)
-T--L-SS
I can't decide between 'starless' and 'stopless'

1A: Metropolitan bloomer? (6,5)
L-N---P--D-
London something? Pride?

3D: Steer over most of one county shortly (4)
--O-
This has me beat.

I either whizz through the Big Issue crossword or struggle with a few for days. Also, it really gets on my *** when a crossword prize is a dictionary but the dictionary doesn't include the answer, e.g.
8A: Expression of doubt from Humphrey (4)
This is U-P-, so must be Umph, yes? It's not in any of my dictionaries.

Thank you all for any help with these.

London Pride - a saxifrage.
3d Oxon
London pride
stagless?
11a: stayless ??
Chambers gives "umph" same as "humph"
11a] Is your 'T' definitely correct. It could be propless - that means without support.
I'd opt for Bib's 'stayless' ie no guy ropes or stays (tent technology).
Did you ever wear stays, cupes, or were you stayless?
I'm with Bibblebub at 'stayless' (don't you remember corsets Cupid?)
I doubt she has ever been stagless...
Nope everything's quite firm without stays thank you Frugal ;-)
Question Author
Thanks everyone, I'll go with stayless. And I was thinking London Pride, imagining it to be a brand of bread, i.e. bloomer! :-/
Oxon as in (c)oxon, to steer?
Ox = Steer + on(e) = Oxon (Old Oxford County)
