surprisingly, and laughably, Robbies team won 1-0
Question Author

Really ?? Gee.

Was it a serious game then ?? - As in - did it look like the Ex Pros were trying ??

Who scored ??

Scorer was Jamie Redknapp, from a volley. Ex-England internationals could have tried harder certainly - they were probably asked to let Robbie's lot win.
cynic!

I'm not so sure....the ex pro's certainly looked the better team in the first half, but Venables made 5 changes at half time, and Robbies 11 did play much better in the second half. Goal was great. Sorry, but I don't believe for one second that ex pros would let a "celeb" team win, ever, no matter what the charity.

Hi Jules, how are you today? xx

Ex pros not been seen on TV for a while... offered of a bit of exposure, in the name of charity.. on the condition they let the other side win... Sounds perfectly feasible to me.
Jamie Redknapp the scorer - isn't he an ex pro? If so why was he on Robbie's team. Unless of course it was Louise Redknapp that scored the goal

Louise Redknapp scoring and then running up the pitch with her shirt pulled over her head in celebration - An enduring image ;o)
I watched this as well. The old pros were better in the first half and I did wonder whether it as simply age taking its toll as the younger men on Robbie's side looked sharper second half. Trevor Franciis should have had a penalty for the old guys in the second half, though, but if it had been given the keeper would have been off so I'm not surprised it wasn't given.
lol OBonio....you've clearly never watched The Match, on Sky, have you?
so what happened yesterday then? Were the SCottish ex pros only allowed to play if they promised to humiliate the Rest of the World squad to make the English 11 look good? lmao. I've seen Ally McCoist play worse (and cover less distance on the pitch) than that in his Rangers hey-day lol
aye kick, its all a conspiracy!!!
yeah, that seems to be what OBonio thinks Jules. how are you? xx
I'm great thanks Kick, who do you think will win the match, unbiased, judging purely on the teams?

I think it could be a good match...I've reallly enjoyed Sky One's The Match (celebs v ex pros) and I think both sides on Sat will be rally competitive. The ROW squad looks quite good, but they seem to be struggling to get fit (hence Ruud played last night). What if Gordon doesn't get to play? You may miss those big marathon running thighs (are you swooning at the very thought lol) Bet you're really looking forward to it Jules?? Do you know where you'lll be sitting, so I can watch for you and the family on tv?? Will you be cheering on England, or ROW? xxx

hi Kick, we're sitting in section E33, behind the goal, east side, row 16. My sis in law has bought us an england cowboy hat!Liam will be with us so he'll be suitably embarrassed!!!! Just the way i like it!!!! lol sis in law is mad so i have to go along with it. lol Although i am a huge Gordon Ramsay fan, i will be cheering on England! I'm borrowing hubbys England shirt so i'll really look the part! Fingers crossed about My Ramsay, i NEED to see those thighs in action!!!!
