Type 'contacts' in the search box and click on the Contacts Folder (should be the first item in the list).

In the Window that opens you can add new contacts via File/New/Contact
The first thing you should do with freezing is update your drivers and check you RAM
Having loaded and installed Window 10 from W7 I felt I had lost some the freedom to do what I wanted to do on the laptop without suggestion.
Having returned to W7 I shall hang on to it as long as it is safe and viable
Just go to your inbox folder and click the +new icon top left it will drop down your added contacts jourdain.
Freezing could be caused by overheating, due to dust build up.

Try blowing hard into the vents, and using a vacuum cleaner funnelled to give maximum suck on any openings.

I cant easily use my lexmark printer which I have now thrown away even tho it worked perfectly.
and it W10 upgrades without telling you
so things .... disappear
last week - a flag appeared on all windows products - please activate your product

and altho I couild access my windows accounts - my subscriptions are up to date altho in another thread you denied Bill Gates and his operatives were going to a subscription only service - I could not access the programs

so I rang windows and got very helpful Julius from Amerikee - I hope I didnt pay for this and - and he uninstalled using remote control windows ( using a non Bill Gates product which I thought - suspicious ) and then reinstalled Windows all of which took two hours or more

so it works now

and he said ah it may do the same in around seven days and give us another call !

and also
this is an issue we are seeing more and more of ....
[ I did wonder at why he didnt say - ' wodger done to it ven ? ' but seemed unsurprised at what had happened ]

so stick with W7 if I were you - I rue the day I pressed " instal W 10 "
PP, I have updated all my machines to run W10, even my ageing and underpowered Netbook. I ran W10 in the beta mode for 6 months before the official release.
I LOVE W10.
hc does it feel that sometimes you are 'spitting' against the wind, it does for me. I am on the verge of just giving up when it comes to w10 questions. It really is almost groundhog day sometimes. I have been looking into cortana and am getting ready to take it seriously. Do w7 users still drive Rover 400s and champagne Supa Novas.
Some people just don't like change, Togo.
It's a no win situation. MS need to keep pace with progress and update its OS but if they change it 'under the bonnet' so it looks the same people complain because it's 'no different' especially if they have paid for the upgrade.
If it looks different, they complain because it's not the same.
In fairness hc there is one ABer who found himself with w10 by default. Not a peep of dissent or negativity. I suspect he has taken the deep breath and gone...... right better get my head round this.
Some people embrace change :D Good thing we're all different.
OK .... First thanks for all the positive ideas and suggestions, I shall try them.

BUT... I came on line at 6.30 and fought my way to a couple of posts. I wasn't surprised when an update announced itself at 6.45 and the screen went blue with the circling thing. At 8.30 (still with a blank screen) I long-pressed the 'off' button. At 9.00 p.m. I re-started it and was met with an 83% uploaded message. By 9.30 it told me all was done. Hooray! Callou! Callay!

Then I got all sorts of things asking me to transfer data etc. EH? I took a deep breath, switched it off, restarted it and here I am. I am really on the point of saying 'goodbye' to technology, I really am. I would miss you folks , which is why I am trying now.

I suppose I'm saying that it is all getting beyond me. I am going to call into Curry's tomorrow and ask about re-installing Windows 7. :)
Why not just leave it as it is now it's done, jourdain? You're here and able to use the pc
hc - you are my thin thread to sanity on here..... ok, I'll keep battling on. :)
Good ho. All will be well.
