does anyone watch it,just seen grandpa john has died yesterday morning in his sleep,he was 90 odds

Morning kate. Yes I am an avid watcher Granpa Schnabel was the original 'star' in the original series. These early episodes featured Parker his grandson, and now possibly the star of the latest series, as a child. Grandpa was 92 I think, and has recently been very ill although he seemed to have made a good recovery. Parker was very close to him.

Hi again kate. I have found out that Discovery aired a two hour special last night, but it appears only as yet to have been at 10pm Eastern Time in the States. If you are a fan, like me, you will no doubt be looking for it on our Discovery schedule. I have had a look on catch up and it is not there.

Aw,used to watch Gold Rush,and loved the relationship between Parker and his grandpa. So good to see knowledge being passed on and accepted with such respect and love! Parker will hurt big time,but will carry on grandpa john's legacy no doubt. A lovely man !

Ta kate. I will re-post on this thread if I spot when the John Schnabel special is on, and keep popping in in case someone else posts when it will be. There were to be some updates etc. next Tues 22d about the new season. They may put in on then.
