my mum has a data allowance on her mobile, but finds the screen a bit small so wants to be able to access the net using her 7" tablet, using the phones allowance - as there is no wifi in the place she will be.

what is the best way to do this?

NB she has not got the tablet yet, and wants to know what it needs to be capable of for this to happen - she only wants cheap simple one

her phone is a samsung galaxy ace

thanks

Not sure re. Android but she needs to enable 'personal hotspot' or equivalent on her phone, the tablet should then see the phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot and she should then be able to connect. This assumes that her phone contract allows such tethering (the general term used for such a practice)
Exactly how you do it depends on which version of Android the phone is running, but all should be reasonably similar. On Android 5:
Settings/Wireless and networks, tap "More"
Tap "Tethering and portable hotspot"
Turn on "Portable WiFi hotspot"
In the settings give your network a name and set a key.
Once you've done that, just get the tablet to scan for networks, tap the one you created and enter the key.
