Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac
Saw this tribute band in concert last night and it was definitely the best evening's entertainment (£30/ticket) I've had in a while! Like Mrs O who didn't want to shell out vast sums for tickets to the real group, this band are endorsed by Mick Fleetwood. (Cheapskate in me 30/03/15.Still haven't learnt how to do links). They are near the end of a 70 date tour, but the vocals of the 2 female singers and overall musical ability was first class. They did all the oldies like Albatross, Green Manalishi & Man of the World too. Well worth seeing if the the chance arises.

If your favourite band is never going to tour again - Floyd, Nirvana, then maybe a band playing their music is something you can enjoy instead.
Purists want just the real thing, or nothing, and resent the idea of other musicians piggy-backing off the talent of the originals.
Depends on where you sit in terms of wanting your rock 'real', or not.

Very true, Andy. Maybe I'm not a purist, or don't want to pay/ can't afford the over-priced tickets plus travelling to venue costs, and am happy to see the next best thing at a local venue. Just saying that in my humble opinion, they were very good. The remaining venues on the current tour are Scunthorpe, Shrewsbury, Darlington, Cambridge, Salisbury & Swansea. Am sure you'd enjoy them, FF. Was so glad that they did the old Peter Green numbers, Green Manalishi being my favourite.
Pied Piper - //Interesting man Peter Greene. Went slightly bonkers and smashed all his guitars up. Still playing but not as before. //
He didn't smash his guitars, he gave nearly all of them away, because he is psychologically damaged by ingesting contaminated hallucinogenics.
I interviewed him on his first 'come back' tour and he was definitely not connected to reality, but he can still play like an angel.

I have - and I am still having it!
The best interviewee ever, though sadly not face-to-face as he lived in New York, was the writer Quentin Crisp, who was just wonderful to talk to. I rang him a couple of times just to chat, because he invited me to, that was the kind of man he was. A wonderful example of humility and patience in a hard world, I still miss him.
