I was talking on the phone to my daughter (age 20) earlier today and she was telling me a story about one of her neighbours. When I asked how old the neighbour is, she said "Oh he is really, really old....about 40."
I think I shall now take myself off to the nearest knackers yard
It's like a conversation my daughter had, when she was about 5, with my mum. She asked her if she was going to live a long time and my mum said, "I don't know. I hope so".
And my daughter reassuringly told her... "I think you will. You have so far!"
Hi ael. It is still broken and in the brace. I will be in the brace for a total of 9 weeks or 15 weeks. I am currently on week 5 so a way to go yet....sob
A friend told me her sister had said.......Gness is odd....when you see her from a distance you think...Wow....she's really lovely......then when you get close you think......Oh, hmmmm.....well she's not bad though.....then when you get to know her she's really lovely......??????.............. :-(
I remember mum had to take me to the Dr as she was unable to get a babysitter. He made small talk with me while mum got ready and he asked how old I was, to which I replied ' I'm 5 but I'm 4 when I go on the bus with grandma' still makes me giggle
I've just remembered about the time we had a power cut and I could only find one candle which I placed on the mantle piece. Mr O was sitting on one sofa and I was on another one at the other side of the room.
He said " You look beautiful tonight."
When we were at school, aged about 15/16 we thought all our teachers were really really old. Fast forward to when we were all aged 50, and we went to a school reunion., one of our ex teachers was there and she said " Cause, when I taught you all I was only 23!!!"
I can remember when I was early teens discussing old age with my friend. We decided we didn't want to be old and we would have a joint suicide at 26.
Needless to say we are still here!
