When Thatcher was in power all the comedians loved to make jokes about her (even fake socialists like Ben Elton) and no comedian would ever have said they supported her (even if they did in private).
Ben Elton is now a multi millionaire, but I bet he still "pretends" to be socialist.
The weird thing is that all these "arts" people who praise the left wing forget that people like Stalin, Pol Pot and Chairman Mao were all so called "socialists" and "Communists".
And look at all the horrors they did under the name of socialism.
But the "arts" people forget that.

I don't think political beliefs are necessarily tied to income, although it can be used as a very very broad demographic.
Political ideology is based on beliefs, and they tend to remain even if personal circumstances alter.
Just because Mr Elton now enjoys the fruits of his talents and labour is no reason why he should abandon the principles that informed them.
Success does not mean that you are compelled to transfer your political allegiance to a party that worships money - and thank heavens for that.

I thought I had posted on this thread.... I must have been dreaming lol
The vast majority of actors have sporadic employment at best and often take low paid, transient work to 'be available' should that call come in. Therefore they are Labour fodder.
Then the few that make it want to show their right on credentials and keep it real by being hypocritical. Just look at that *** Brand, worth a mint, living in luxury and hobnobbing with the great and the good but spouting his own brand of populist claptrap.
