The prizes in yesterdays draw were:

3 Stars - won you £25
4 Stars - won you £51
5 Stars - won you £15

Should the lottery be taken off Camelot and run by someone who knows what they are doing as a not for profit organisation?

(For the record, I didn't buy a ticket)

Gromit believe or not, I am with you on the Lottery. I stopped doing it when the numbers increased, having been 'locked' in with a set of numbers I had done from early days. Just have a dip when the figures are immense now.

Togo,
Me too. I had the same bleedin useless numbers since the beginning. When they added the new numbers I was able to stop.
"I am sure Camelot's formula is correct, but it will be perceived by people who have bought a ticket as being unfair." - so are you saying that camelot are somehow responsible for anomalies in the distribution of prizes and should thus change the rules game by game to account for players perceptions? The problem is the guaranteed prize for 3 numbers, that can in theory eat the whole pot, even the jackpot. The way to fix this is to offer true proportioning for all the prizes.
PS, I too was freed when they added the new numbers, I now do an occasional lucky dip when it's a huge rollover.
TTT, the £25 for three numbers is not guaranteed, it is not likely to happen very often but there is a possibility of a lower amount being given.
I stopped the National Lottery Farce and started the Health Lottery about 2/3 months ago, have won about £70.

Not really interested anymore about winning 50, 80 or a 100 million, as to old to enjoy it.
I am still of the opinion that it should be removed from private enterprise & as it is entitled ''The National Lottery'' it should be run by the Nation to help fund the NHS.
Let's hope the state would do better than the first one attempted .

Yeah Mamy
"TTT, the £25 for three numbers is not guaranteed, it is not likely to happen very often but there is a possibility of a lower amount being given. " - fair enough TCL but £25 was paid this time thus the prizes are distorted. The prize for 3 numbers would have been much lower if they had truly proportioned it.
